The PARASOCCER EASTER TOURNAMENT was held at the Mobolaji Johnson Indoor Sports hall at the Rowe Park Lagos. From the 21st – 24th of March 2008.
In attendance were the teams from Total consult (TC Terrrors), Nigezie(Nigezie Team) Basket Mouthchester owned by the popular Comedian Basket Mouth, Lagos State Sports council team(LASC) , AY UNITED(owned by the popular comedian: Ayo) LEAD TEAM, M2DC TEAM(2CREW) and the indefatigable New Africa Shrine Warriors owned by the New Africa Shrine.
The Theme of this year’s event is “that true champions know no handicap”.
The essence of the Para soccer tournament is to take this physically challenged people out of the streets and make them useful people in our society irrespective of their situation in life.
During the events it is also encouraged for promoters of the teams and capable individuals and corporations to find employment for them so they will not go back to the streets to beg. A good example is Mr. Theo Lawson who employed one of them as an accountant in his office.
The events was proudly supported by Promasidor Nigeria limited Makers of Cowbell Milk, Charvet Nigeria Limited makers of Powerhorse drink, Ragolis Nigeria limited producers of Ragolis table water,Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Sports, New Africa Shrine, Basket Mouth (Bright Okpocha), Ayo and Koffi (both popular comedians) Nigezie, LEAD, M2DC,Total Consult , the Lagos State Ambulance Service, Africa independent television, Silverbird Televsion, Link 65 television.
The Four teams that got to the semi finals were the New Africa Shrine Warriors, Total Consult Terrors, Lagos state Sports Council Team and Lead Team. Below were their pairings and result.
1st Semifinal NAS WARRIORS 2 VS LEAD TEAM 3
2nd Semifinal TC TERROR 7 VS LASC TEAM 1
The pairing for the third place and final were also as follows
THIRD PLACE RESULT: NAS WARRIORS 5 VS LASC TEAM 1
FINAL MATCH RESULT: TC TERRORS 4 VS LEAD TEAM 3
The New Africa Shrine Warriors proved themselves as Champions to be with the golden Bronze position and are sounding a clear warning to other teams that care to listen that when next the competition kicks off that the championship will be ours to take.

We use this medium to thank everyone that has made this event possible and special thanks to Mr. Theo Lawson for initiating this commendable project and to also congratulate him and his team for winning the championship for it was well deserved.
Once again we wish to let everyone know that the next event will be bigger and better as there are openings for everyone interested to own a team or support one.
